Not too sure how to wear these. Presumably they go over your right shoulder one front, one back and the belt round your waist. Does this mean I should get rid of the right side general pouch when wearing? Also blanco or non-blanco?
ok... no-blanco. They're not your personal issued kit, so you don't blanco them.
There's two ways of wearing them. Both still have the rest of the webbing as normal with no changes.
1) Over the left shoulder. One pouch on front, one on back. (if you did it on the right, you wouldn't be able to shoulder your rifle.. )
2) round the neck. One pouch on front left, one on front right.
In each case the strap goes round your chest... (it should be too far up to be round your waist.. )
They're damn uncomfortable things to wear!
oh yeah... there's a special way to tie the chest strap... find me at an event and I'll show you.
Got you. They are actually labeled Front and Rear.
But what about the general pouches? Do they stay or go if you're wearing these.

Got you.
Thats a load'o'pouches.
That's the idea...
You can lug around a lot of ammo with that lot...
Looks like Martin has volunteered to be the Brit packhorse!!
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
I need to see a picture of this really. The back one sits OK but the front one has the left general pouch in the way. Move it to farther left and the shoulder strap will fall off. Either I've got it really wrong or it's a crappy design.
The shoulder strap needs to be really short.
The pouches on the front will be on top of each other.
Its not a very practical system to be honest, i tried it for our bren team at crich and sacked it off after 30 mins as it was too uncomfortable and you cant carry a pack and shoulder your rifle with them.

just seen a pic of a no2 gunner with one set of pouches fixed above the others on his webbing but i cant download it.
yup... that's one of the ways of wearing it that we've been talking about
this isnt the genuine pic( cant seem to find that anywere now) but its the same if you know what i mean.in the other pic, the no2 was stood up so you got a better idea.( its late war obviously)
Thanks. Actually I found this very same pic about an hour ago. I'll give it a try at Husky. The over-the-neck style is the only one that's going to work. Front & Back is just rubbish.

I hate that 're-created' pic. The spent cases are on the wrong side of the BREN, for a start...

er... the ejection port on a Bren is underneath..
Exactly, so why are they predominantly on the left?

They're mostly underneath... Only slightly to the left,
I assume he changed his aim slightly to the left after those were fired.
