The shirt and tie that came with my Replicaters service dress uniform are both jungle green, which seems too dark compared to the period pics I've seen. Where is the best place to get a WWII officer's shirts and ties?

I also need suitable shoes...

lol... now you're asking!

I think WPG do some good stuff, not sure if they do that lot.

For my Service Dress I have a modern khaki cotton shirt a selection of plain ties (green wool one and a US service tie) and for shoes I have some original 70s dated Service Dress shoes.

I am not happy with the shirt and tie... but the shoes are ace!

Hi

The green officer tie and shirt could be fine. There once again seems a good deal of variation for officers shirts in use. They were most likely controlled at Battalion level with the unit advising officers which tailors were approved to supply and the tailor having a list of what the unit had in the clothing list.
Service dress shoes seem to have changed very little in design from WWII to the present. So depending on your size you might find in many surplus shops. Sabre sales list them at £25 a pair. These will require a good deal of bulling as they are unissued.

Thanks guys. :good: I found the last brass button needed for my Manchester Regt. jacket on Ebay, so I just need to finish up the bits 'n' bobs (especially pleased with scooping a regimental swagger stick 8) ).

A regimental one? Wouldn't that be more of an OR thing?

The officer's had the plain ones didn't they?
