Hi guys, I've recently bought a Dutch BD tunic, and discovered that colour wise it's almost identical to Canadian BD trousers from the 50s. The tunic also sports the cloth tab at the neck opening, as the 1942 Canadian tunic did, style wise it's very close to Canadian 37 pat, my question is, "Were Canadian BDs used by British units ??, (I'm talking about my favourite ones ie; GPR, Para/Airborne, or maybe a Commando unit), or should I badge it as Canadian ?? and if so, did the Canadians wear Combined Ops patches ??. Kev
Yes, the Royal Canadian Navy Beach Commandos in W Party certainly wore the Combined Ops patch.

For Airsoft, I really wouldn't worry about it.
For re-enacting, I don't imagine many British units wore Canadian battledress. (numerous contrary examples will no doubt follow).
Cheers

Canadian BD was prized for it's smarter look. If you could get hold of it you did. However this applies to officers not other ranks!
There were Canloan officers in british units. See the following photo for a couple of Canadian Lts in the South Staffords:
However when going into battle I suspect the very hard to replace Canadian battledress would have been swapped for the BD of the regular british tommy.
