Confused about what's acceptable for my new smock - I've seen everything stitched on from a full set to just the wings to zero. Options guys?

Only rank.

if you're paratrooper than wings on right sleeve.

6th airborne painted on tactical recognition symbols on the left breast pocket for D-Day but it was rare.

Officer rank goes on the shoulders as normal, NCO rank on right sleeve only.

Nothing else, no reg flashes, no pegasus, no trade badges, no airborne flashes.... nothing but rank and para wings.

If you're doing south staff or any other glider unit no para wings even if para trained.

Yep but they are also a totally different set of wings.

I did have a set but sold them.

I am getting a Denison soon and will upset the airborne chaps when they see the beret hehe.

As far as i know like gadge has said, Officers rank goes on both epaulets as normal, chevrons on the right arm only for NCO. I also believe the 6th Airborne shoulder loops (not sure of their correct name but i guess its something to do with tactical recognition so you could tell the british from the canadians.) were worn on the epaulets as well, as the Canadians wore their yellow ones.

But full BD Insignia (Shoulder Titles, Formation Patch & Arm Of Service (Airborne title)) is completely wrong.

wrong.

by 44 any f**ker with the right connections had one. they ceased to be airborne property mid 43.

Off hand army recce, army snipers, RM and army commando, officers and recce corp all used them.

Same as windproofs, theres no end of bollocks about them being 'sas' but truth is they were general issue in winter 43... you just dont see it in the staged photos.
