I have a paratrooper silver beret badge (polish) and was wondering how much these go for on the collectors market for an original.

It looks like this one here.-- attachment is not available --

There were many different types made in different theatres, at different times, different metals processes and slightly different designs. Some are rarer than others and are worth more as would be expected.

There is an eagle on ebay at the moment that is shooting its way past the £60 mark, but it is an Italian made one and my (limited knowledge) tells me they are some of the rarer ones.

There's a whole thread on them on one of the militaria forums that I am trying to find again to direct you towards as it has loads of info...

Have you done either of the following:

1) look on ebay for 'completed listings'

2) Rang up sabre or a militaria dealer and tried to buy one?

Either may give you an idea.

Failing that if you can wait til monday for a reply i can see what the going rate is at Stoneleigh on Sunday.
