Here are the pictures for those who requested:
The smaller pair, used but no damage - note the map pocket has had its 'vegetable ivory' button replaced with a Swedish military grey plastic button - there are jars and jars of these buttons in nearly every charity shop/second hand store in Umea, so nothing unusual about its use as a replacement!
The larger pair, seemingly completely unused.
The lables of the British Hong Kong company who made them - these are found on the outside waistband of each pair.
Looks like Jardine, Matheson & Co, Ltd. had their fingers in many many pies...

The only labelling inside the trousers is this faint printed number on the inside of the smaller/used pair.
The trousers have the correct dressing pockets in situe - so obviously aren't made for civilian use. Private purchase perhaps? But who would privately buy JGs???

Also to note; neither have belt loops on the front, the larger/unused ones don't have them on the back either, but the smaller/used ones do have three 2" belt loops evident.
Some detail showing the front buckles and their attachment 'vegetable ivory' buttons.

Ewo Cotton Mills - ...Uniform Cloth;...
And from the Wikipedia article I linked in my first post, Ewo Cotton Mills were started up and owned by Jardine, Matheson & Co, Ltd.

Officers would need to buy JG's like their other kit.
If Wiki is to be believed Jardine became a Limited company only in 1961 so that would suggest that the label dates from after this.
Though it is surprising at the moment that they are in the wartime pattern of JG's if they are as late as the sixties.
The back of the trousers has only one pocket, on the right-hand arse-cheek. There isn't a pleat in the map pocket like the field dressing pocket has (double-fold-under), but they do have a small single fold of material - this can be seen better on the first picture posted in this topic that shows the smaller/used pair, and the worn edge of the outside of the fold can be seen as a lighter line running down the centre of the pocket (from the button down).
Yes, the larger pair do look very shiney in the photo, but they're arn't that shiney in real life, the camera has inhanced any light reflection as I took them last night in my dark 'QM Stores' room! They're about as shiney as my unissued pair of war-dated denims.
This info' any help?
