I'm trying to track down either a light weight WWII brit or Airborne type sleeping bag here in SA. I cannot find any examples but I wanted to know how far off our Sixties SADF type sleeping bags were from the leight weight version.
I'm struggling to find pics of the light weight issue
This is an example of our 60's SA army issue.

From the WW2 forum the lightweight bag looked like this.

Are you interested in getting one?
Most WW2 British soldiers would not have seen a sleeping bag during their service.
If your after a similar sleeping bag because you want to sleep as most soldiers' did, then this is your sleeping bag:

McVickers, believe it or not, that was the answer I was looking for as I suspected that was the case. Most of the grey blankets we get here have white "GT" stripes on them, so it looks like I need to track down a pure grey one with Red stitching.
I'm not sure the bright red stitching is absolutely essential. But a brown/grey blanket is right to my knowledge.
A blanket's a blanket at the end of the day. As long as it's grey and itchy, it's about right.
