i was looking at my old ammo boots and thinking "they'v had it" and was in mind to ask the good and wise where a replacement pair may be found.after sealion, red cap, rineland ,ill giogo and sevastopol had taken their toll.

as you can see they have seen better days, the soles were peeling and the leather worn to natural colour in many places.now these i believe started life as brown officers boots that were blacked at a later date ,when i got them they had metal toe protectors but had never been studded ,they are also 1943 dated so proper old, but even when i got them they were no museum standard.
i tried some of the black dubbin on them that i got for my german boots and then before i knew it i was getting the last out and re-nailing them.

and they don't look half bad,the studs are in no pretty pattern but the sole is secure again, may yet replace them as some of the stitching is iffy but now there's no hurry and i don't have an excuse for the wife :slap:
p.s. if anybody has a line on some size 9 ammo boots please feel free to let me know.

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.

Comrade,
You should have been up on a fizzer long before now!, for the condition you allowed your footwear to fall to, if all else fails all you can do is run, if your boots let you down, you can't even do that.... always have good footwear, they are they fail you, you are f'ed.

Treat the soles as well they will last longer.

:D
