How many inches down from the shoulder seam is the point of rank stripes meant to be? I'm going to re-sew my corporal patches as I did a terrible job of it last time and I can't remember how far down they go, and I can't just measure it as they are at different lengths! (I'm terrible at sewing) :good:

Quoting from "British Army Uniforms & Insignia of World War Two"

When worn on the upper arm. The lower edge of the badge was positioned 9in from the top of the sleeve. The lower point of the one-bar chevron was placed 9in from the top of the sleeve, of the two-bar chevron 9.5in and of the three-bar chevron 10.5in from the top of the sleeve.

I have a small skewer hidden in the collar of my jumping jacket, and a razorblade in my gaiter, as well as my knife.
