I've seen these before and i *think* it is British, can you take a pic of the back.

There has been quite a bit of this stuff coming up on eBay lately. Different sized pouches but all with the same bottom flap with eyelets in.
Gadge; what book/resource have you chosen as your webbing bible?

I'm not sure about that Gadge... I have my webbing Bible... though its not that good, but I don't have yours...
Anyway... I'd say this was a converted or custom piece. The poppers are not British...
Its similar to the Canadian Browning pistol mag pouches, but not identical. At least not to the one I have, but that is a SoF repro.
Does it have any markings? Pretty much all British webbing is marked in some way.
The belt fittings look to be steel, which probably dates this to be somewhat post war. They're usually brass.
The eyelets and other fittings make me think its designed to fit like the standard pistol ammo pouch. Either on the belt, maybe attached to the top of the pistol holster, maybe with a brace attachment.
Interesting with the two different poppers...could be for different magazines.
Hmm, it looks a lot like some of the Vietnam webbing I used to have. It could even be Brit Korean era.
The eyelets to the bottom seem to be designed to take the US system of hooks like on the first aid pouch as below:
Its the brayley book on 1st and 2nd world war webbing.
Yith was the last person i remember borrowing it unless anyone else wants to own up?

The eyelets are brass too, you can tell from the blue corrosion of the copper content.
Dutch? Or possibly even Belgian? That would be my guess due to the smooth poppers, 'hand written' marking on the back and simplicity of the attachment 'U's/hooks (they don't have the little kinked ends like Brit stuff).

I bought my own copy ages ago... you offered yours to me and I said I had my own.
You sure, i am certain i lent mine to you some time ago.
Oh well someone else must have it then, cant think who else would find it interesting other than you and I.

Anyway, back to the webbing.....
