Hi Lads, again I'm sure this is a silly question, yet Ive searched and can't find the answer. Just stuck some L straps on my small pack, but now I have no idea how to attach the water bottle next to the bren pouches now theres no extra from my x straps :slap:

Quite possibly your X-straps are too short. There are different lengths.

However you don't need much extra below the belt to get the water bottle on.

Are you quite tall?

I am tall and had to really jack the waistbelt up (slightly above where the BD waist fastening is) to leave enough slack on the X straps to get a water bottle and e-tool on.

If you don't want to do full marching order you could of course cheat and leave shorter tabs on the left side of your webbing to the right.

You do need to to get that wasitbelt really high though, more like a belly belt.

Cheers

Yeah the belt should really sit at the divider between blouse and trousers and that should be at your belly button.

That is a fair bit above average. For under 35s the average height in England is around 5'10" and over 35s 5'9". I'm an old guy but 6'2". I'm sure the XL straps will be fine although I've managed to make it all work with just the long ones.

Yer, nation wide its a little less but everyone in my village Is pretty tall so I don't feel that much bigger :D

I had this problem the other day, put my kit on and my belt sat about 4 inches above the belt straps on my KD shorts
