I've been working for a while on the new website and am currently working on website and forum integration - wrapping the forum and website code together so to the outside world they are one and the same thing.
A while back they were thoughts that among the punters that 'Comrades in Arms' should become a less of a dominant force for the forum. It is true to say over the past year things have been democratised (larger moderator group, all games listed by date, no weighting given to CiA events) and there might be some merit in generalising the 'branding' of the forum. BUT, given that CiA runs the forum I think it is only fair to keep a strong brand in front of the punters but MORE than this: it is clear that CiA is the central pillar of WW2 airsoft and has been from the beginning. Without this WW2 airsoft as we know it would collapse. Other groups come and go but CiA has remained strong and dominant. And so it should remain with the community forum.
Anyhoo, you can switch to the new forum look by changing the Board Style to 'cia3' in your User Control Panel/Board Preferences. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and I'm very content with it - its a bit of a shock to switch back to 'cia2' now! The beginnings of the new site can be seen at http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/wp/. I've done the zoomify coding now (the system that works the kit guide photos) but many hours more work to do on integration still so a good while off making any of this public.
Wow! You're right about "cia3", very different! New website layout looks good too. Is there any chance of re-doing some of the photos too, so that tool gadge isn't in so many?
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Yes, I'll be fastidious with the Gadge filter.
Quote from USA board poster about Gadge "On a side note, your photos are truly remarkable. In one of the other threads it was as if you have reenacted a countless number of units."
Yup, he does a lot of dressing up.
In all seriousness, we really could do with changing the Waffen SS kit guide. I'm sure we'd get a volunteer with pukka kit to pose for a new one. Gadges' kit in the one we have now is shit (and that gay, white scarf really does my head in!).

I'm bringing a mount of W-SS kit to the July bash. The place looks to be about perfect for photo's as well
