Hi Chaps
I'm getting quite fed up with people saying that they have already seen an unreleased film on pirated DVD, or that they will wait for this instead of going to the cinema.
As you know my (and other user's) salaries are paid by film releases and profit margins so this is pretty unacceptable IMHO, not to mention the legal issues of open discussion of such practice.
I'd like to post this as an announcement within the TV, Films and Books forum if no-one objects:
Hi all
As per my post in the Defiance thread.
Any discussion pertaining to the pirating of illegal downloading of copyrighted material on this forum will not be tolerated.
Apart from being against the law, there are forum users who work in the industry who see this sort of discussion as unacceptable. Films only just scrape a profit as it is, in most cases, and quite often people will work on smaller films for deferred payment, so the profit margin is essential for them.
From today, anyone found posting about illegal pirating or downloading of copyrighted material on the WW2 Airsoft forum will have their posts removed and will be issued with a warning. Repeat offender will find that their accounts may be suspended.
Many thanks

Don't forget some chaps have seen the films abroad before they are released here but statements such as "I'm waiting for a copy" deserve a reprimand. No problem with the statement though.
Obviously I hold out for the legal/moral side but it baffles me why people want to watch a film that has been videoed from the back of a cinema! On the link I deleted (from Karabiner I think) to a downloading site had the film shot from a seat at the side of the cinema and watch completely unwatchable! I blame YouTube - kids have got used to tiny, moving smudges on their screens.
Having said that, cinema projection technology is over 100 years old and can be crap at times.
The new digital screen network is great though. Digital projection is crystal clear, but can be a bit contrasty at times.
