Can anyone run past me what the craick is with ammo! As having never been in action I'm unsure of what the protocol is? Do u pre buy ammo or is ammo sold at the event? If not, where can I purchase ammo and is it subject to the same scrutiny as the weapons themselves!? Please advise as a GIR man can only last so long without the necessary! Thanks!

We haven't made specific arrangements yet but yes, they do sell ammo and pyro at the site.
Can I make a suggestion? It might calm your nerves and give you an idea of what this airsoft thing is all about (and find out if you like being shot at!) by having a fun day at one of your local sites - they will hire you everything, stout boots is all you need. I don't have specific knowledge of these three sites but they look par for the course:

Thanks for that! Seen the modern weapons before as my brother in law was an airsofter for a while, may give him a ring and will certainly look into gettin in some basic training! Thx again!

Well, it will give you some basic 'training' - you will be instructed on the safe use of airsoft guns and shown how to load 'em. You will get an idea or how far away you can hit someone (or they can hit you!). You will get a feeling of how important it is to work together (or frustratingly, on open days not work together ), what to carry, what not to carry etc.
All basic knowledge you can tuck under your belt and put into effect from the off at Devils Hill - it's going to bad enough being thrown into battle without having to ask fellow players how to load a gun or fannying around with kit! Plus you will have a friendly local site you can visit from time to time to fill in the months between WW2 games and make your way towards getting UKARA for ease of gun purchase.
Again thanks! I hope as I'm not just after the airsoft experience but the ww2 aspect! Have a real passion for the whole era and am looking forward to getting just an incling of what it was like! I'm definately a team player and would look to follow orders not win the war on my tod! From the after action reports from Jed it sounded just what I'm after! Even the fact that actual "action" may be limited justs adds to the realism I want to experience! I kinda feel modern airsoft is all a bit lacking in something!

Normal open days can be great fun - most of us have done them for years, many still do, so I wouldn't say they are lacking anything but WW2 is definitely something different to the norm. Having a couple of open days under your belt will give you something to contrast and compare with as well as getting the basics off-pat.
