Clearly as they need to do bugger all for our event I would expect just to pay the £15 as we don't want gear or to be entertained.
Walk-on fee is £15 so I'm sure a £30 game fee would be doable.

We are situated about 10 miles east of Corby on the A43 . If coming from Corby, you take a right turn for Fineshade, and if coming from the Stamford/A1 direction, it's a left turn.
You will see a sign for Fineshade, and Red kites. Simply follow the lane up the hill, and when you see the buildings in front of you, turn right. we will have signs out on gamedays to direct you.
I was having a look on their website yesterday. Site certainly looks big enough. Not too far to travel either.
September 19th is my only available sunday in September, so it ties in nicely with CA's own schedule.

It's an interesting site with a wooded hill surrounded by scrubby woodland, a newish tree plantation, old railway cutting, a long avenue with deer watch towers (can't use 'em in-game but they look like a border posts/watch towers) with the whole site dotted with scrapes, sandbagged m/g posts, wooden bunkers etc.
September 19th is my only available sunday in September, so it ties in nicely with CA's own schedule.
The only big conflicting event I'm aware of in September is 11/12th - Victory Show @ Leicester
Sounds good for either a Siegfried Line or early Barbarossa type scenario.
If Close Action has an open day on the 12th, it doesn't really matter about the victory show. Also, if we can do a £30 green fee, it won't hurt wallets too much and gives people plenty of time to make plans.

Victory Show date was just for info - a LOT of CiA members will be there and its a biggy. Just pointing out a 19th game is the weekend after and we will need to consider whether chaps will want two events close together - if there is any doubt the Victory Show will have the upper hand, no question.
If we want to go for October then Close Action's games are on Oct. 10th & 24th

Oops, my bad! Forgot about December! 
Jedburgh isn't that far from the War & Peace, so I can't see a problem with the Victory show, especially if we have a reasonable green fee.
Edit - I strongly suspect that PBI will try again to do their Oosterbeek game in September, so we could do with announcing this as soon as practical.

Just dug this up as potential battle for almost the right date in 1943, allowing glider infantry and airborne of the 82nd airborne, so no 101st 
-ness. People have the kit already, as it's the same units that were at St.Lo, plus others will have U.S kit bought for Webbys' game, just requiring a rebadge/debadge.
Salerno - "The Oil Drum Drop"
The 82nd Division's second combat operation was a night parachute drop onto the Salerno beachhead on September 13, 1943 in support of General Mark Clark's 5th Army which was in danger of being pushed back into the sea.
The 504th PIR was parachuted south of the Sele River near Salerno on September 13, 1943. In order to guide the C-47 pilots to the shrinking dropzone, oil drums filled with gasoline soaked sand were ignited every 50 yards when signaled. 1300 troopers landed that night infusing a new sense of confidence to the beleaguered soldiers of the 5th Army. The 505th PIR was dropped the following night near the same dropzone to reinforce the air assault. On September 15th the 325th Glider Infantry Regiment (GIR) was brought into the beachhead amphibiously to join the rest of the division.
Once the beachhead was secured, the 504th PIR & the 376th PFAB began an attack to recover Altavilla on September 16, 1943 and the division fought towards Naples which it reached on October 1, 1943 and moved in to the next day for security duty.

Close Action is a good site. There's open woodland, dense forested areas, a railway cutting, and deforested areas that look like arty struck land.
If you were talking about September 19th I could technically make it to that, but I'd be on Canada time as I get back on Saturday morning.
I think I'd have to give it a miss.
October would be fine though.

No problem for October dates for me but I'd prefer earlier than later just to leave more of a gap between that and a December event.
Pete's scenario sounds fine - and different. New to me anyway! Very important to have a strong concept that players can latch on to (game content is the least important as they won't know that until they get there!).
As mentioned at the AGM, we could just put a winter game into January. It worked well this year bookings wise.
I'm afraid I'm not a fan of using January as an excuse for getting snow in a game. If we get snow the chances are we will have to cancel the event or at the least have many no-shows, Of course, we might drop lucky and have a dusting but in my opinion snow=bad news for event organisation.
In any case, that would mean just three events for 2010 and we were aiming for four.

Not suggesting Jan for the snow, just for practicalities.

If we're then planning an early Dec game for availability that only leaves two months though.
Like I said, I'm happy for you guys to run one whilst I'm away if it doesn't work any other way.
Personally, I liked having The Loop event in January - it gave me something to look forward to after xmas....
As to possible dates for this gig, i'm fine with anything that works for the rest of you guys.

I'm more than happy to go to one of their open days, to see how the site plays. Especially since there's bugger all between now and June for me, airsofting gamewise.

I might rock up for that as well, provided that i can combine it with a trip to see a lass I know just down the road. (might as well kill 2 birds with one stone lol)
