Heyy guys,

Was wonding if I could get some help on this. I've rencently got a para smock from SoF along with some fallschirmjäger gloves, now I've got an Luftwaffe office Uniform (Tunic is post war so not all to correct :slap: ) and thought I could combine the two to make a fallschirmjäger kit. Looking on google images I keep seeing alot of uniforms with black leather webbing and green trousers but I also come across some pic where they've got blue trousers and brown webbing. I'm looking to get a Para blouson from SoF at some point but not now as I'll boil in this weather. Now I really want to get this correct so I've taken some photos and posted the best one below. Do you guys think it'll work??

Thanks

JD

Hi there. Re: FJ gloves, I'm assuming they are the long ones? If so, they were worn outside the smock, and only associated with troops who had jumped. From about '42 onwards there were very few (if any) jumps into action - FJ were land-based troops.

As the war progressed (44 onwards?), FJ uniforms were diluted with Heer and Luftwaffe kit (and troops), so later war it was not uncommon to see Luftwaffe Feld Division kit, like their splinter B jackets and blue trousers, and green or blue gaiters.

That said, if you want to portray classic FJ, suitable for the whole war, then the green Springerhosen (jump trousers) are what you should get. Black or brown leather is perfectly acceptable.

Yeh there the long ones

So I'm able to get away with 1944 onwards with the gloves on the outside of the smock??

Will have to get green Springerhosen along with the blouson some time, better start saving the pennies

Thanks for the info

JD

Well, the gloves would really not have been worn 44 onwards. Do you want to wear them to protect against BBs? I know I felt like that when I started, but in a decent WWII event, you don't have people spraying 1000s of rounds about, so I haven't felt the need to wear gloves for a long time now.

Yeh, I sometimes go down UA in WW2 kit and find gloves tend to soften the blow

Prob by the time I start going to the weekenders I'll hopefully have a classic FJ look

That's more than adequate for gaming purposes! Don't fall into the trap of thinking that you need stitch perfect kit to get involved in WW2 airsoft.

Yeh I know it doesn't have to be perfect but I want it to be xD

It works how I've got it at the moment so I'm happy but as I've said I'd be going for the classic look when I can

To echo the comments above, the look is absolutely fine. If you want to expand the kit in future then I'd go for some wool trousers (jump trousers or whatever, just more sturdy for crawling around), and a helmet before worrying about anything else. Black webbing is more flexible if you wish to branch out into Heer etc in the future.

Cheers
