FJ face painting or camouflaging

Quick question I couldnt find on google did FJs ever paint their faces a specific color or pattern or do any camo at any point i have two mid to late war FJ kits.

The only thing I have ever seen is Burnt Cork rubbed on the face. I don`t think they needed to after all the dirt sweat and tears that was flowing. Interested to know though

Camo cream wasn't really a thing in WW2. As noted above, burnt Cork, boot polish, mud... were sometimes used.

Most frontline soldiers were pretty grubby and/or suntanned anyway.
