Hello everyone. I found on eBay a HBT Blue Fliegerbluse. I always thought that the luftwaffe were issued the Reed Green Tunics that the Heer used or the Tan coloured tunic for fallschirmjäger. So I'm just wondering if someone could tell me whether HBT Blue Fliegerbluse's were a real thing in ww2 or whether this is just someone making up a new tunic to sell.
Regards,
Ralph
It is a real thing. The LW fatigue working jacket although iirc the real ones don't have any pockets (which makes them a bit impractical!) or insignia and were usually in undyed cotton although they were occasionally dyed for field use.
Here is a colourised photo of a Flak crew wearing them:

The luftwaffe in Africa used blue tunics and trousers in the same style as the normal lufty tropical clothing and some webbing items where also manufactured in blue
Oh right. The one I was looking at on eBay had 4 pockets and fallschirmjäger insignia but I have found one without pockets and no insignia that seems more correct.
Thanks

I think there was a four pocket jacket too, but you said Fliegerbluse....

It's listed as a fliegerbluse and comes complete with a lufty chest Eagle and fallschirmjäger collar tabs. That's why I was confused to start with.

Luftwaffe blue HBTs were pretty rare, actually.
