turning to Fallschirmjäger

Hi Paul, for most UK sites, the tropical gear would stick out like a beacon. If you are hot, simply don't wear the Fliegerbluse and roll up your Knockensack sleeves.

As regards the gear you are getting / thinking of getting - either of the smocks is ok (although I personally would not order from SoF - I prefer militaria-net or Epic). Don't buy the TG130 jacket - it's not FJ gear. The Fliegerbluse is. Very nice boots - if you can afford them!

You will need a belt, Lufty buckle, Lufty Y-straps (not army / SS ones). I'd also advise Lufty breadbag, water bottle and mag pouches appropriate to your weapon. FJ used to have one pouch of 6 for MP40, rather than 2 x 3. If you want any help sourcing these bits, PM me.

I already have both smocks, helmet, gloves, pants, webbing JF jacket and pants, one of the many reason I get most of my gear form SOF is that they are an advertiser and I also get a great deal off the brothers

Ah, fair enough then.

FJ also commonly had a pistol - Luger or P38. If you've got an MP40, I think most places (inexplicably) sell the 6 mag pouches in pairs but I'm sure you could find someone on here who would share a pair with you.

P38 and MP40 are the next on me radar, then i guess its insignia time

For insignia, you will need:

Chest eagle for Fliegerbluse
FJ jump badge for Fliegerbluse. Although the metal ones look nice, cloth is equally authentic, and more practical.
Chest eagle for jump smock(s)
Metal gulls for collar tabs - one pair for a Jäger.

That's it. Most people tend to go overboard on the bling with medals and ranks - I have "deblinged" most of my stuff now for a more authentic look - would have been far cheaper if I'd not gone there in the first place!
