At the most basic level you want:

Belt
Pair of Cross Straps
Pair of Utility Pouches, each will take 5 Thompson/Sten mags;2 Bren mags ;or 2 Bandoliers of 50 .303 rounds each.

You can then add on (in order that I recommend them)
Water Bottle and Carrier: Skeleton type is early war. Sleeve type is late war. It is possible to find original waterb
Small Pack and a pair of L-Straps
Pistol Holster (only really for officers and non-line infantry, but we're airsofters doing Airborne loadouts so what the heck! Note that most 37 pattern holsters will not take pistols bigger than a 1911, there is a Canadian style holster that will take any medium frame pistol and a 37 pattern 45 holster that will also take larger guns, but it looks so similar to a standard one that its hard to tell the difference)
Pistol Ammo pouches, (for 1911 mags you need the Canadian type which has space for two mags. For a revolver there is a loose shell pouch which is nice)
Sten Bandolier, more or less airborne only. Takes 7 extra Sten or Thompson mags
Entrenching tool and cover. The version with the extra strap over the end to hold to tool in is pretty late war, or maybe even post war. To be honest don't bother with this...
Large Pack and pair of utility straps, also needs L-straps from the small pack. large and not really needed unless you are staying overnight... essential I'd say for our 24 hour game.
Pair of Bren additional ammo pouches and shoulder strap. Only carried by the Bren No2. Would take 4 extra bren mags, good for loads of extra ammo etc.

There is also a few additional items for officers:
Binocular case, compass pouch (like a revolver ammo pouch, but with a padded lining), officers valise or haversack.

These last few are usually attached with the use of "brace extenders"...

Sorry, more info than you asked for, but I couldn't help myself... lol!

Get some size 4 from sabre if ou can. If you can't, get some size 3.

I'll always buy them from you if they don't fit... I always seem to be after more pairs of gaiters, lol.

I found this site which has very clear diagrams of how to put your 37 webbing together;

It always does... even if they're the right length.
