Then join an Indian State police force!

While you lot were liberating Normandy I was traipsing about India. The guy on the motorbike is Punjabi state police in Amritsar and was carrying what looked like a Mk 3 sten (wooden stock). The one on the station platform was at Kalka in Himachal Pradesh (not far from Shimla, the British summer capital) and is toting a Mk 2. I'm afraid the pics aren't too good but the Indian authorities are a bit twitchy about people taking photos of security services, especially at train stations. I also saw a lot of Enfield No4s being carried about.

Okay, so when are we going to add Royal Artillery Concert Party to the PBI list of units? I always wanted a set of Bombay Bloomers.

Concert Party... well we have a Lofty on the forums... I'm sure he'd be happy to attend in uniform... in the summer ;)

I have a friend from kashmir, who can get pretty much any gun / launcher you like in country,( kashmir that is , NOT THE UK) ive been asked to go over many times, and ive thought about having a "shooting Holiday"

you can get the usual dross, home made ak47`s and pk MG`s , rpg`s galore

but also some ex ww2 stuff as well, he had a lovley 1942 stamped berreta officers pistol chambered in .380 auto (9mm short) . pretty much mint condition, and i know the joke about italians not useing their guns :D . he always steered clear of the ak`s , as too many blew up , after a good burst of auto, the metal used locally just wasnt up to sustained bursts.

he wanted me to help him get a good quality ex USSR one, ive just never had the time or spare cash to fly over.

also with the so called "war on terror" in full swing, the last thing id need is to get hauled in for "Training" or "helping" religous nutters,(not that hes a nutter)
in the eyes of our glourious govt, any one useing a gun abroad is classed as a terrorist, yet the Sterling services toss pots can train wannabe bodyguards with live ammo and auto weapons in the EU (chech republic) and then they can go to iraq as "bodyguards" and thats somehow "LEGAL"

load of double standard bollox if you ask me

train a private army to further uk interests is somehow legal

many hundreds of years ago when i was a young squaddie i got to fire one at bisley,,,,, it scared me to my very sole, lol lol what a horrible weapon, but there was a war on, they had to used what they had. ( the sterling wasnt much better to be honest just better made ) it was ridiculusly inacurate even for a trained soldier at anything beyond 30-40 feet lol, and it could fire a full magazine if you dropped it, you wont see many pics of sten guns leaned up against walls and such, far too dangerous( as well as being a beasting offence) but in close combat wow, it was a monster .its up side was its ease of cleaning and operation, its speed of manufacture and its price,a typical british compramise ( PS my dad hated them during the war, said they were more dangerous than the jerries) .
