Looking throught the Bundesarchive came across these pictures. Heres an idea for anyone who fancies something different from the German webbing ,looks like an early assualt vest, caption says Italian soldier.

As far as I know this was for Italian Paratroopers, it could carry 12 mags for the Beretta M38, 6 at the front and 6 on the back plus 6 'belly pockets' for grenades.
this was also used for the 1st (Polish) Independent Parachute Brigade they played a major part in the war mainly at Operation Market Garden loads of info on this out there and i didnt know any of it untill early last year, seems some hero's dont get to much of a look in where films n stuff are concerned dam yanks wanna re write all of history.
