My grandad was a WWI veteran in the Kaiser's army at the age of 18. He was awarded an Iron Cross 2nd class, a war merit medal with swords and a wound badge in black. Would these decorations translate to a Wehrmacht (Heer) uniform and if so, where would they be positioned?

I've seen a fair few pics of commisioned officers wearing Great War medal ribbons on their ribbon bar or even pinning the whole thing above the left pocket when in dress kit..
