OK I think I've got a helmet sorted, proof will be in the pudding so to speak, but I have a very fetching bulgarian small (tiny 55/56) on its way to me, but obviously besides it being the wrong colour (I can soon change that), it has a longer skirt I believe to it than the german helmets Will be able to confirm this more when it arrives and is checked against che's repro. Considering my only other option without spending a small fortune (actually would have been a rather large fortune on a lil lid) on an authentic, this ones cost me
Helga - chill! Suesue66 does good splinter covers. One size fits all, with a boot lace to gather it in. For added realism, you can go for a foliage loop, made of a rubber inner tube.

Shouldn't have a problem fitting one of Spearhead's or SueSue's Splinter/Tan&Water covers on it. I managed to fit one on a large M42 helmet shell (circa size 70 shell) with the unrolled flange, so it will fit on a Bulgarian shell with no problems.
