after the wotan game last november, i threw all my muddy panzer gear in a box,, i dried it at home, then reboxed it as wifey wanted it of her dining table.

now i have to clean it, as its black and the muddy chalk was grey i need to give it a wash
i was going to hang it on the line, and hose it off with cold water, will this shrink it ???
the wool panzer outfit was from soldier of fortune, and im not sure at all about shrinkage.

any one washed this kind of stuff????

many thanks , Anthony

If you absolutely have to wash it, wash it either by hand in cold water, or on the "wool" setting in a machine. I'd recommend not using any detergent other than "woolite" and even then, only if absolutely necessary.

After Wotan, all I did was let the mud and crap dry, then brushed it off with a stiff bristled shoe brush and my wool kit looks fine now.

On the same theme, does anyone know of any decent way to get red wine out of a Fliegerbluse other than sending it to the local drycleaners? I'm not sure whether the cold handwash trick would work.

I heard that you can use white wine to remove red wine but I don't know if it works on dried in stains :?

Nail polish remover removes a lot of ground in shit and stains but try it on a bit of concealed fabric first.

2 hours brushing and blowing with compressor this morning (well, its work, sort of  )

my wrap dosnt have clods of mud on it now, however it does look like ive been dragged allong a dusty road behind a panzer for 10 miles.

its a black/dusty colour now :slap:

i may blast it with the hosepipe to get the dust out .
i just dont need it shrinking, its too tight already
