I`ve just come into possesion of an item I could convert into a rough jump smock, problem is its Italian camo. How acceptable would it be for a fallschirmjager to have an Italian jump smock? :?

Never, ever, seen any Jerry jumpsmocks made from italian camo fabric. The SS made extensive use of it for fur-lined Parka shells and trousers (as seen on the 12th SS in the Ardennes offensive), but not seen in use by Heer or FJ.

Late war, 90% of Jumpsmocks were in Splinter B, with the occasional Tan & Water pattern used in the very late stage of the war.

For info, the italian 'Folgore' and 'Nembo' divisions were re-assigned to FJD4 in the winter of 43/44 in italy, there are fotos knocking about of germans with italian pattern material covers on there helmets but as for smocks those wearing them appeared to be italian
