I've been looking on the net (Google Images :D ) and seen some Jackboots worn with the luftwaffe uniform. I've uploaded some photos of what I've done with what I have on the Pic thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1181&p=217941#p217941

I've also got a Lufty tunic on under the smock, got it at a bargin price from SoF :good: . Tuince still needs to be sent off to Epic for the insignias to be sewn. Trousers are the post-war officer ones from epic. I've got a few pic of them togeater. Album password is NamBuddy

Like to know what people think and if it's right/do able

Thanks

Are you going for Luftwaffe Feld Division impression ? If so, what you have is fine - I'm not keen on the bright blue trousers - I would say that's the only thing that looks wrong. Jackboots were issued to most troops, until later war. (To clarify, jackboots were not removed at this time - any previously issued were still used.)

To save yourself money, learn to sew - I did when I started this hobby - it's quite satisfying, too. :) What insignia are you planning on having?

Was planning on getting green collor tabs and the breast eagle. The tunic doesn't have the loops on the shoulder to put some shoulder boards on. I am leaning towards the Luftwaffe Feld Division impression, will have a Heer one and lufty. Should pass for Falshy if I swap the Jackboots with my brit ones

I have thought of sewing but I'm not sure I would get everything right and would just kick myself if I did get it wrong

You can get away with pretty well anything for LFD, especially later in the war when they were absorbed into the Heer and just issued normal Army kit. Your impression is fine and the tunic will look even better with its lufty eagle and green LFD collar tabs, although as Steiner says, the trousers look a bit blue so maybe think about getting some W2 wool ones at some point (I'd go with field grey ones so you can use them with other impressions).

I don't understand why your tunic doesn't have loops for shoulder boards though. My old Swedish jacket didn't either but it was easy enough to make them from a couple of strips of material cut from the jacket liner and Epic do replacement shoulder buttons.

It isn't too hard to sew on insignia, hold them in place with pins first and check and double check that they are in the right places, then just tack them on. It gives you much more control over your impressiosn as you can easily re-badge etc. If you cock it up it doesn't matter, just cut them off and try again.

Cheers

I do have some M40 Field Grey trousers. I'll have to have a play sometime

I did have that in mind for the sewing, was gonna try it with my pre war lufty tunic I've got. I think I'll give it a shot when I get the money spare to get some insignias

The label on the tunic has Solders of Fortune and it's a 38" cheast and fit me surprisingly well considering I'm a 36" cheast

Thanks for the feedback guys :good:
