Hmm you've set me off now.
I think i'm going to put together panzer outfit for next years games.
Questions are:
SS or Heer
EM, NCO, Officer
Panzer or Aufklarung
Lots of reading up to do i think.
However factors to think about.
SS or Heer, well i have loads of heer kit already so it would be easier to do Heer, but i already have a heer impression ... although the heer impression is an EM so for reffing CiA games i could do with an heer nco or officers outfit.
But... i'm still not amazingly comfortable with doing SS units (don't ask me why, im not sure, conditioning i guess)
And then Panzer or Recce, panzer is more classic but i see panzer recce being more feasable for 'dismounted actions' although i dont know if i'm mad on the yellow piping...
Christ its a lot easier doing brit kit....

Thing is yo see the nature of organising cia game means you tend to be in a command role of a group most times (its why we ask players not to wear officer/nco caps on the German side to alieve any confusion).
So much as i love the the idea of doing a generic panzer man I'm leaning towards a SS panzer recce leutnant as its the most practical for now.
Will mean a lot of new kit though (belt buckles, cam items, cap etc)

They are always a good start but they rarely give you enough depth, the warrior series might be a bit different as they specialise on the man rather than every campaign and battle etc.
definatley the first port of call though

You're not going to like this.
Absolutely shredded back from being in the infantry, i planned on being a career soldier too, my spinal column disagreed.... too much weight being carried overlong distances in inadequate *issue* kit.
Every now and then it gets really bad, i've been referred to a spinal surgeon now so it might actually get a long term solution.

Well its left my left leg an inch shorter than my right leg and my pelvis out of alignment. Most my vertebrae are pinched together,, means i cant move my left leg very wel and i get stabbing pains in my back and legs.
Whole spine curves to one side, not quite sure how they will fix it.
