Are you attaching the front straps directly to your belt or to mag pouches?

Be better in the german kit section mate.

Right the tail of the 'y' loops under your belt

the arms of the y both connect to your mp40 or mp44 or k98 pouches.

the little side straps connect to an a frame, i personally thread them on my belt to keep them out the way.

hope that helps

if you dont have front pouches you can use little extenders made of leather loops with d rings.

Heh, you could do if you wanted! Once you get all the lengths right (and belt running above our pockets) then you may find it helpful to squeeze the hooks tighter with pliers so it doesn't all come apart when you bend over! And for a more permanent arrangement you can clamp them tighter so you can take the whole lot off and on in one ensemble.
