After having done a few of these in the past including my own I offered to give my mate Graham's helmet a makeover 
So here we have a typical boring looking German helmet:
Having smothered the whole of the helmet in araldite I covered in sand to give it that nice rough texture 
Once dry I used left over model enamel paints to give it that worn look:
Using coat hanger wire and large gauge chicken wire I made the wire basket as shown:
I added araldite to the wire joins and parts of the basket and dipped in sand, once dry it was then sprayed with grey primer. Once dry it was then painted and fixed to the helmet and touched up with more paint. And voila a now less boring helmet
