Ive just heard AGM have dropped the MP40 and Cyma the Thompson. If you have em, keep hold of them, as they may be worth a bit in the near future. The real shit is due to TM not going ross complient (lead cont in their solder) they also cant be shipped (leagally) over here either.

The reason they have been dropped is a political thing to do with China and Guns! Do know the ins and outs!!

Good news is there are other ww2 rifles being developed! I heard today a poss Sten?

Ill keep peeps posted as I hear more.

Bugger. Is is just those 2 guns or are there others for the chop? What about other manufacturers? Aren't AGM meant to be the ones developing a MP44 too? Be a pain if that got the chop as well.

Lets hope SRC aren't too long in getting their MP40 out.

Seized and destroyed? Blimey that does sound serious. Are the companies in any futher trouble for it 9whatever the infringement may be? As I asked before was it just those guns molds that were destroyed or others too?

Good news on the new guns though I guess. :slap:

Yes an MP44 and a Sten would be most ecellent but MP40 would be better, what exactly is the deal with AGM then if their moulds were destroyed are they going to make some more ? i still think a TM Mp40 would be a very good idea.

over recent months there have been a number of Raids on AEG factories and a number of moulds have been taken ( D Boys and also JG springs to mind) It’s something to do with the legality of their manufacturing, but apparently this is common place and has happened before
I’m told that AGM are not in a hurry to re mould where as D Boys and JG will be replacing their moulds . Then I guess it’s gonna happen all over again?

Right, lets get this straightened out.

The manufacture of Airsoft guns is illegal in mainland China. Always has been. Raids on factories over the years have not exactly been uncommon. Granted, the latest raids have been more serious than those before, with molds being seized and held by the authorities. Some have even been destroyed, some not. However, given the level of what can only be termed "institutionalised corruption" out there, it's more than likely that the molds that weren't destroyed will be sold back to the factories (gotta love graft, haven't you?) and those that have been destroyed, well, those companies are already talking about building new ones.

Now for RoHS (Restriction On Hazardous Substances). This is oft debated at work, as purely defence applications are exempt from it (don't think Mr Taleban is worried about lead poisoning when said lead is in small quantities on a circuit board sitting next to 500 kil's of Hi-Ex that's heading his direction) The general consensus (backed up by a source at the NWML) is that it has absolutely fuck all to do with H&S. Hell, a lot of the alternatives are worse in both environmental and H&S terms than those now restricted! It's about trade protectionism. Particularly against factories in the far east that are undercutting Europe's few remaining electronics companies.

Interestingly, HCFC's (134a & r22 "green gas") will be banned in the EU in 2015, under the HCFC Regulations 2000

There's a posting in Arnies news section about this as well. A journo was visiting factories in China and confirms what's said above: the factories were closed down for the Olympics and the local govt types are holding the molds to ranson.

He also posted some sweet pics of some new guns...
