Just patch it, it will look more authentic that way.

My Bro' will "go red" for this as well.

Not you though Pete?

I thought it was odd that Stu would be interested but not you. I guess in your excitment you forgot to put yourself down.

I can't help feeling NKVD is a role to which you're well suited...

I've got feldgrau trousers (34 waist), size 9 jackboots, a splinter parka, feldgrau shirt, dot44 shirt and some gaiters. You're welcome to use any of them if you don't get any better offers Matt.

The great thing about the Russian kit is that, using your US greatcoat and buying a really cheap Pilotka (around £5-£10 on ebay) you can get the look.

There are some good pointers for Russian loadouts on the Russian subforum. Hopefully, a full kit guide will be appearing soon as well. Like Headshot said, a greatcoat and Pilotka can provide the "look" and not break the bank. Hopefully, I'll have a shedload of fibreglass Russian helmets made soon as well.

Well I'll have a choice German impressions I can lend out in 42-42 chest, 36 waist depending upon what Germans forces are required. I also have look-a-like Russian (M69) uniform spare, which is slightly smaller.

Pete and I will be doing a little 'encouraging', if you get my drift.

You have no need for an Armoured troops officers cap I'm happy to lend out then if you're going NKVD?

Indeed have look round or as I said before feel free to ask. The full kit guide hopefully won't be too far away, along with a more basic one those on a budget. If your budget can stretch that far I'd recommend getting a proper russian greatcoat over a US one as they are quite different and can really enhance the look. You can find them on ebay for under £40, often alot less and there is no need for insignia.

My impending marriage means I can't afford ANY new kit.

to address the lack of russian weapons, well worth a look here: http://ww2aa.proboards.com/index.cgi?bo ... hread=5532 if you fancy making a quick and (not so) dirty Mosin nagant springer conversion! This method means no alterations to the VSR's mechanisms or magazines etc, uses no real-steel parts either and can be done with basic hand tools.

Looks pretty damn good to me! although a M1938 carbine version might be more practical

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
Joseph Stalin, November 1942
