I take it then CW that you have accessed the members aera of afra. so far I have only access to the open public forum.
I would suggest just a little patience with the retailers and I'm sure they'll sort out accepting AFRA cards.
After all, it's in their interests to be able to sell to the largest possible market.
Right, CiA group section now set up on the AFRA web site.
I'll set up an AFRA private section on this forum that will contain details of how to join the group and get access to risk assessments, insurance information, register for events and so on. I'll notify you by PM when that is done...
I bought a Thompson from China that was stopped at customs and AFRA sorted it out for me no problem..
do any of the chinese companies recognise AFRA yet, and has anyone ordered from china using AFRA for their defence.

See above post Jay.
Also quoting form AFRA spokesman (in relation to buying RIFs):
"...If it's Customs, when the item lands with them we receive a phone call and we prove your membership more often than not by giving Customs & Excise your postcode (which is on the package anyway!!!!) This proves you are on OUR database."
cheers dave, so say for instance i want to order a pistol from rsov. do i just notify them to put afra member on the parcel with contact details for when it turns up at customs.
That's it - I'm not sure if RSOV would understand, I can't find mention of their UKARA instructions on their web site but the principle is the same. Put info for customs on the outside of the package or I suppose you could wait for the HMRC letter and then provide written info to them.
