Nice three page article about the WWII airsoft scene by Chomley this month in Airsoft Action.
It's a broad overview that explains what we do to the uninitiated so probably isnt going to tell you anything most you guys on here dont know already but... it's still a bloody good read and hopefully might find us some more new players!
I'd urge everyone to have a look at the new mag, its got a very 'broad church' approach and covers a lot of aspects of the hobby and is really quite interesting. (TBH it's worth it for the cracking shots in the WWII piece!)
I'll state a bit of a vested interest here as I've done a piece for them for next month but I bought this the first issue and liked it enough to buy issue two where I saw Daves piece and decided I'd flex the old fingers on the keys myself!

A little bit realted, but Gadge what happened to the WW2 themed Article in AI you used to do , they were one of the few sections i read every month.
WW2 Weapons AGM Sten, AGM MP40
Paul from AI and I felt the column had kind of gone as far as it could really and both of us thought it a good idea to find some new angles for the magazine rather than just looking at minor variations of the same loadout - once i'd covered pretty much all the major troop types there wasnt a lot I could do without getting into the obscure or unskirmishable... i mean Italian frogman saboteurs are dead interesting but no ones going to wear it for a battle .
Equally the direction Paul felt was the way forwards for AI wasnt really really anything I was that interested in and I honestly find it hard to write about stuff i'm not genuinly into.
While I dont write for Ebcon any more, we parted company very amicaby though and I still get AI occasionally.
Really glad you liked the articles, weirdly I *still* get people coming up to me and telling me it was their favourite bit even though I've not written for AI for over a year!
The good news is that my new column in Airsoft Action will be in a similar vein but this time I'm looking at 'Cold War Warriors' - military units across the world from 1945 to 1990.
I daresay I'll do a few WWII bits as well but it would be unproffesional and unfair to run the same type of WWII articles in Airsoft Action. I have, however, got some great ideas for a new slant on WWII airsoft articles.

Thanks fella.
I really enjoyed the three or four years I worked for AI and had some great times there but you know its alwa good to finish things when they are done rather than run them into the ground.
As said, I heartedly recommend Airsoft Action as a great read and if you liked my copy in AI youre going to love some of the stuff I've got coming up in the new mag.
Honestly it's *really* good to hear that someone likes what you do and your chaps kind words have really lifted me up on a day when the old back injury is dragging me down a bit.

Where can Airsoft action be purchaced from? W.H.Smiths, like Ai?

Yep, it's in Smiths every month and all the other big outlets.
A lot of airsoft stores like Badgetac in Bucks and the shop that used to be Airsoft Armoury/6mil in Cannock sell it too.
What I personally liked about the last two issues is the fact they covered a full spectrum of the hobby from very introductory stuff aimed at new players, through 'practical' stuff like hand signals through to interesting article on camo etc.
I also like the review policy which is that they are 'unstarred' as they reflect one persons opinion about the product/place rather than a blanket evaluation.

Back injury and you go and buy a socking great radio? Daft beggar.

Good work, Dave. I eventually found it in Smiths in leeds, all the copies were very well hidden behind AI.
How odd, in Notts it was the other way around. AI was behind a screen of AAs!

Heh, I've yet to see it myself!
I stock it too and always have copies with me so bare that in mind;)

Yeah, and you save £20 or more in face value (and time and effort finding it in the newsagents!) if you get a 12 copy subscription too.
