So while the majority of you were off having fun at Bryansk, I was at the Aunt and Uncle's for my God son's confirmation. They live on a farm and up at the back on the river bank there is a pretty big, (at least the size of the IED site where Churchill's was held), patch of land that I couldn't help thinking would make an excellent spot for a WWII game. The "beach" next to the river is pretty wide with rocks/shingle, this then has a short scramble up to the field level which slopes gently upto a pair of bunkers about 400/500m apart. Each bunker has a firing pit where coastal defence guns were stationed during the war, with a tunnel leading back into the field, with steps leading upto a rear exit above. Both bunkers have two small medium size rooms behind the firing pit, with one have a massive ammo store after them. To the left of the bunkers there are two lighthouses/pillboxes, (still with some rusting spotlight frames in them).

Behind the bunkers/lighthouses there is 100m or so of thick heather etc with paths through it, which opens out into a field with an old stone barn in it. Moving up through the field there is a pillbox which looks down with firing lines across the open ground in front. There's thick woodland behind the Pillbox with pathways through it, as well as rough road ways and another couple of field's in it the forest. My Uncles own the neighbouring farmland whilst the "site" itself is owned by the forrestry commission.

For me it contained lots of different environments, (bunkers, open fields with some cover, the shoreline, thick woodland), on a reasonably contained space and I couldn't help but imagine different scenarios whilst walking around it. Just a shame it's in bloody Ireland. :x

I'm currently uploading some pictures and will put links below when they 're up.

go to museum tour theres the images of the good stuff...

It's a original site for 2 38cm guns... (there were intendet to be made 4)

Lots of old original bunkers...

That would be my ultimate wish...

The guys from denmark are playing on an old german airbase... After the war it was used by the danish army...

There are still german bunkers and trenches on the location...

Here's the pictures from the last game:

It's very tricky getting airsoft guns on aircraft, if you didn't know. Some airlines refuse point blank, and others charge a lot. The last time I went out of the country to do airsoft (in Scotland!) I ended up sending my stuff to a mate, via courier.

I've spoken to a certain well known airsoft site operator on here about the possibility of the site I stumbled on. Hopefully something will be able to be arranged.

The boat on the other hand is a diffrent ball game. hollyhead/ fishguard-Ireland. Trust me a car at home is a must. Irish public transport is shite.

I know a few N. Irish lads who airsoft, but I was under the impression that The Republic has banned all RIFs full stop. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Hence Ryanair's stance on them.

God no, Check out Irish airsoft association. These guy are organised down to ground level. The law in Ireland changed last year and decriminalised RIF's. Dublin has the biggest airsoft site and there are many through out the country. They managed to do what UKARA ballsed up and present a united front to promote the sport, in media and TV. The had their first agm in Dublin.

And to add they are the boys to ask if organising. I put this up on a certain other site as an example of how things could be done and got shot down in flames.

Being a bit thick here. i just thought of air arran. They fly into Waterford and Shannon. Not sure on their stance on RIF's but I'm sure they would be batter than Ryan air(tossers) they still owe me £200 for stranding me in Venice.
