Suggestions please....in one of the recent gamedays I attended I was shot on the lip while helping a team member out in a 'medic' scenario! (I only ever wear a face mask in Mod Airsoft!!!! Not in WW2)
Later realised that a fairly large piece of a tooth had been chipped off as well!! Can't afford loosing teeth willy-nilly now can we?! And oh how I do detest going to the Dentist!
So.......what do you chaps suggest I use as a full face mask, preferably that can be worn with FJ or WH/SS german helmet?
Possible solutions?
(A) I have thought of taking a gas mask and replacing the lenses with mesh (?) and taking out the blue asbestos and other 'bits and bobs' from the filter. Won't then mist up and will be lighter...and still kind of look the part???????
(B) A Field green/black full face MESH mask /half face mesh mask with Bugz Eyes goggles.
(C) 'Skull' or Full Face .....detracts?????
What would you do or what have you done? Advice will be most appreciated........Thanks!

Gumshield. Only £3 or so at a sports store and you won't look odd.
I use a gumshield too.

I have been wearing goggles / shooting glasses for over 2 years and never had a problem. I probs should get some though as my "luck" may run out. I have only heard on the odd occasion about teeth being shot out, but another member quoted that a site in one year had loads.
To keep in with the appearance. Shooting glasses and gum shield, re doing a gas mask could have dire consequences to your eye sight and is not worth the risk in my opinion.
It happens more than people think. I lost one of my front teeth at Worthing about six months ago.. I've tried a gum shield and find it uncomfortable, bulky and very awkward to talk with it in.. (If anyone has found a reasonably comfy one please let me know..) £350-£400 at the dentist is a very good insentive to use one I know, but the 1/2 face mesh mask is also very appealing, dispite them being frowned upon by some..

In that thread you should be able to find the following pictures;
This is the best solution I have seen to date which will fully protect your teeth AND does look very ok while playing WW2 themed games. It's self-made.
You could also get a half-face mesh mask and paint that like the one above: http://www.ebairsoft.com/strike-steel-h ... -3697.html
The mask used for that self-made one: http://www.ebairsoft.com/koei-face-plas ... -2016.html
Neat idea Arthur!

Wow! Simply brilliant! Thanks a stack for the pointer! I'm surprised he hasn't started started his own business selling painted half masks like these.....I really like this suggestion...realistic with all the 'Health and Safety' features required.....and you can still wear different types of headgear easily.
I am going to attempt the paint job myself!?
As for loosing teeth.
In the three years odd that I've been skirmishing I have only heard of incidences through the grapevine. In that period of time only once did I see someone loose a tooth. Have though seen many BB's stuck in ears and terrible cheek nicks caused by some close engagement or snipe. I've mainly done mod airsoft with a half mask myself, but now its become a matter of 'when not if' in my eyes....thus the mask needed.
Chaps, thanks a million for all the advice.......I at least now have a game plan in mind.....

I must say that really is very clever.. the skin tone looks amazing, I may have to buy one and give it a go.. I have already bought a couple of the half face mesh masks however from ebairsoft, with the intention of painting one flesh coloured and the other basic camo to match the scrim scarves of the period.. Hopefully the latter would look like you've just pulled the scrim up around your face with it being mesh/net like..
I would very much like to find just a comfy gumshield, the only problem is they are designed to stay in by biting down on them, and not really for talking in..

Made my 2 lads half face masks on the instructions of Razor light they have used them at WW2 games must say they are the business and have been commented on at our normal sites. Myself get a cheap gum shield and cut it down so it just covers the front teeth job done for £3
Neat idea Arthur!
For the record: it's not my mask. It was posted earlier in that other thread I am referring to.

Thanks ....but rather not. Mainly due to the fact that when I was shot in the above described scenario it was on the upper lip. The lip was swollen for a couple of days and the welt was nasty looking...yeah, shot at fairly close range! My secular work is customer facing, dealing mainly with senior management at all levels
. Hard to explain away the 'look'! So its not only the teeth I have to consider, but the 'body quality' too.

My usual excuse is 'I ran into a bush while I was out training last night', which does also happen fairly frequently.. of course if the holes are perfect circles crusted with blood it isn't massively convincing.
I usually just wrap a scrim scarf around my teeth, although you need to judge when to pull it up. Slightly mis judged it last year and lost a chip out of one front tooth, but I find gumshields just make me dribble like a rabid dog. FIBUA sites I use a neoprene half mask which works really well.
