Well have a think about this.

You can get a wwii british cmaouflage suit (issued to infantry and comadnoes after 43) for £75.

Thats a full camo suit

mkii helemt will cost you about a tenner

Set of 37 pat webbing about £15

Clone thompson less than 100 or use your mp40 as 'captured'

You could do an amry or royal marine commando for less than 100 quid if you shop about.

Depends on how you define expensive.

Replicators and the link i sent you do themn for approx £70, thats prety good. Mine was £170 and mine with the K&C logo in and sold by SOF will set you back £250

So £70 isnt bad, btw that was a windproof suit, jacket & trousers for 75 in the link not a denison.

Unless you're doing airborne dont bother wiht a denison, some commandoes got them by late 44 but not many whereas the windproof was on general issue (alhtough always stupidly labeleld 'SAS' which is balls to be honest , it was infantry kit)

I think i will do something differnt then not Airborne and more Infantry/mechanized troops.

Battledress then.

But the cheaper option is a windproof suit as this was worn over BD in winter or sometimes on its own in summer.

Ah but only for officers and pipers!

I think Ors were banned form wearing the kilt on active service in the ealry 30s.

However I've considered wearing my kilt and bd and doing a highland inf impression for shits and giggles.

Early war the lads were still wearing them in the field. Up to just after Dunkirk.

At the mo there are three of us getting them. We will fight in full BD, but at all other times kilt is to be worn. You joining us Gadge?

Military kilt is pretty heavy mate you need a fair bit of wind to shift em.
I wear mine a lot and i've been up on the cliffs at whitby in it...

Mind you you have to wear them 'traditionally' or you're not a real man :)
