Game Question

Apologies if this is in the wrong section and feel free to move it (admin)... There's a bunch of players, myself included who were discussing WW2 airsofting at an open game last weekend. The universal feedback was that (a) getting the whole weekend off was a pain in the rear and (b) numbers for many of the games were very limited anyway. I'd always assumed that the games were two day affairs but checking it out on this forum, it seems that most start late a.m. on Saturday and end by Sunday lunchctime. So in response to point (a), why don't you guys do more games like 21/9/08? I know that camping out and sinking a few adds to the atmosphere but this could still happen with a game that ended on Satuday p.m. when it got dark... On point (b), when I play at open days, there are regularly over 100 players and in fact I don't think I have ever played at an open site with a 50 player restriction. So (straight question) why is this? I always end up chatting to site owners about my WW2 kit and the response is 'We really must do a WW2 theme day' and many more people could be involved. The last couple I chatted to were even happy with the FilmSim / lo and mid caps idea. It just seems that we're not really encouraging people to get into WW2 Airsoft because it's being seen as a bit of an exclusive club - opinions please? For my own part, I'm going to try and get a WW2 game sorted at my local site (Fireball) this year. Watch this space.

I mostly play in ww2 kit it always captures attention but i think there are still a lot of people who are reluctant to spend loads of money on ww2 kit of course we all know that ww2 kit can be cheaper in a lot of cases than modern..... As andy said we organised haggard where there were no limits and we had 40 people. Of those 40 many of them were ww2 first timers, and one of the comments was about the quality of the play..... "it was so nice to play with players who play properly and take their hits with such good spirit , ...and... it was good to see everyone getting into the role...." - you just wouldnt get that at an open day... imho
