I bought a pair of what were said to be original german officers breeches from ebay about 6 months back. From the pictures they looked to be standard grey officers ones but when I received them there were some odd things -

First off the colour was odd. It had a sort of brownish tint (middle pic)
Then there were extra buttons on the legs, they look like they would be for fixing puttees to.
Weirdest thing was that there were no markings at all on them.
They could be civillian but the extra buttons are odd.
The colour is kinda like russian uniform but the pattern is off.
They would make good breeches for a volkstruum impression but they are way too small for me. :(

They'll probably end up in the FS section but it'd be nice to try and find out what they are.
Anyone?

Looks like theres at least one pocket, if you lift it up is there anything printed on it at all ? as in when inside out, the part of the pocket you can't see.

No idea really others a stab in the dark for where markings appear. As the pictures aren't very ood and jodphurs aren't my forte, if you're struggling for a definitive confirmation, I'd strongly advise takin some pictures in natural daylight (ie outside) and joining the Wehrmacht awards Forum and asking on there. If they don't know, you'll never know :good:

No idea on the trousers but I can tell you that my original german officers riding boots have tabs for attaching to the buttons like you have on those breeches, which are there to stop the breeches riding up the legs.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

I never thought of that! I'll check my boots and see if they have them.

yep my boots have the loops for buttoning, could be an early DDR pair but they haven't got any markings (I checked all the pockets and there was nothing)

These dont look like any WWII german officer jodpers I've seen O.o they look more like the kind my sister had once about ten years back for show events, but her's were white, same buttoning though near enough

could be.
Guess without markings I'll never know.
I think they'd still be good for a Volkssturm impression tho.

One more question as I don't know if they are WW2 or not do you think it would be ok to offer them in the FS section?

Unless I lose 3 stone plus about 6 inches in height I'm never fitting them.

Hello, those breeches are dyed east german, are they wool? I have one wool pair and I think eight pairs of the cotton rayon mixture breeches, I will get round to converting these Tunics to go with the breeches one day.
