How do you carry/conceal big gas bottles?

Carrying it in the small pack is not very convenient. Removing it and fiddling with pistol mags each time I run out is fiddly. The big bottle is too large to fit into anything else though...

Looted kit in the form of a breadbag on a strap?

I've got a grenade that works as a gas reservoir. The big propane bottle stays at the HQ area in a Commando bergan that also has lunch/brewkit etc in it.

It's one of these:

Do those grenade reservoirs actually work for you guys? Our modern guys have tried using the M26 versions, but they hold so little gas that you cannot even charge a pistol mag from them fully. Might be a temperature/altitude issue though (we average 28 Celsius and 1,500m above sea level here in the north of SA).

I had the same problem with a large canister at the Crete game, very tempted by this refill bottle but a bit pricey..

1-2 fills will generally will last my sidearm (Tanaka M10 or a Luger P08/38 depending on side) all weekend, but then it's a secondary weapon to an AEG, so it's not like i'm firing 100's of rounds, but it's a good few mags worth, usually.

It's also got the best valves/seals I've even known. It'll hold gas for a good couple of months over winter.

Can it properly refill a mag though? If you fill such a bottle you will get a pressure drop as the gas equalizes between main and secondary bottle. Is the pressure in secondary enough to properly fill a mag for a GBB pistol?

Seems to work for me, that's all I can say, really! :D

And are you getting the full 15 shots out of a Luger mag filled with this?

A couple of options for British kit would be to wear the small pack on your waist or use a gas mask bag (or is the bottle too big for that even?). If wearing a denison perhaps you could sew an inner pocket inside it??

I don't generally find it an issue to take the small pack off and rummage around in it, although it might be less easy in the 'storm of steel' of an open day.

Personally I hate gas guns, and this sort of thing is just one of the reasons why (along with being completely cack handed when it comes to mechanical things :) ) Give me a nice simple springer every time, or an AEG.

Cheers

I carry the gas bottle in an ammo box. Pain in the bum of course, but then I figure that several men per section / zug should be carrying ammo boxes so suck it up soldier!
