I thought I'd start this thread just to post some tips I have and if anyone can add advice it will all help. I recently went to Haggard and caught the WW2 airsoft bug but got soaked in the process. Even Steiner couldn't hold back "Churchill's revenge"
Having got back from the game and dried all my kit, I noticed a brown film on my helmet. ( why do I feel I'm lining myself up for abuse announcing that? :? )
Seriously the dreaded rust was keen to get a bite into my kit.
I use a product called Youngs "303" by Parker Hale which is a combined cleaner and rust inhibitor nitro powder solvent for cleaning any rifle parts and a squirt of this and a wipe off with kitchen towel restored my helmet to its original condition, ( I'm asking for it now aint I?)
You know what I mean, if you have any steel parts that get wet in a game then this is the stuff I would recommend.

Anyone know a miracle cure for gnat bites?

I got eaten alive all over my face and neck on the sunday after the rain stopped and all the bugs came out.

Gnats? Man eating mosquito's! I'm covered in bites, some of which are really swollen and itchy despite covering myself with mine and Kermit's bug spray. :x

anti-histamine cream or pills... basically hayfever 1-a-day pills.

Both will reduce the inflamation.

Not that you lot need an excuse but the anti histamine gets round your system faster with alcohol!
Dreaded mozzies got me too and I was covered in repellant. Last year at the GZ weekender I beat them off with 100% DEET from Ebay, however apart from melting plastic, As I didnt have a full wash when I aplied it the next day I came out in a rash worse than the mozzie bites, so choose carefully and dont just read the instructions, do what they say!!

I didn't bother with any repellant and only got bitten 3 times, all on the same spot. :|

Boots Soltan sun tan cream with insect repellent works a treat for me - much better than the more agressive anti-mozzie stuff you can get IMHO.
