I don't think any game has been cancelled because it was a bad game idea. It's just a sign that the game was ambitious and therefore the number of people needed for it to break even was higher than the number of people that signed up. This is a good thing because it shows that the organisers are trying to push boundaries.

This.

Don't forget that sometimes there is no real reason.
This applies to many other things. For the past year I have tried to figure out why sometimes the footfall to my business is large and sometimes small.
Is it the day, the month, the weather, time of day, too far from payday, too close to payday, because the footy is on, because there is no footy on - buggered if I can find ANY correlation.
Sometimes we look for reasons that just don't exist. People do what they do. A crappy game can get 50 punters or 5, an excellent one 5 or 50. Sheisse happens.

Kit requirements can definitely be off-putting. Quite frankly tonight I have been put off attending a game that looks like it may not go ahead because it needs more axis forces desperately and the organisers would rather the game died than have someone wear the wrong underpants.

Dom, I really don't see how you've arrived at that conclusion. There are now a few offers of clothing on the kit loan thread that seem to fit the bill for you and your friend and won't cost you a bean, so no reason to continue being annoyed and no reason not to attend.

If you want the hobby to survive you need to be inclusive and making some self-percieved 'elite' group (who to most look like cocks) is one hell of a way to put people off joining in.

I'm no saying that no effort should be made but don't throw all your toys out of the pram just because not everyone can afford all the pwetty outfits you can to get every game setup looking just right.

Just out of interest, how is 'Any Heer Uniform' non-inclusive in any way whatsoever? Short of allowing multicam and tracksuits, I don't think it could be any more inclusive?

Having no uniform at all is more inclusive Evo. We tried that last time and got told chaps like to run about in their expensive uniforms. :slap: :giggle:

I can't add any more to what has been said already, but like you I'm a relative new comer. No game I have been to has ever been a stitch counting parade, on the contrary, the thesis of these evens seems to be, get basic we can loan you more if you if you want. Whats not to like?

Getting more kit is more of a self satisfaction/bankruptcy, how could you not want more and more! No one has ever said you need to get this and that. This normally leads to the Mrs opens the doors slowly seeing you doing a Scrooge Mcduck and rolling around in your kit. :wife:

Seriously though, come to the game, borrow kit (As i have in the past) and see what you and your friend think.-- attachment is not available --

Epic.

(That's a real photo of dcheetham89 don'tchaknow. He's got a very impressive Scrooge McDuck kit impression too.)
