...Have pretty much 'sorted' my MP44. Sanded down the stock and revarnished it ( The stock is a lot darker in real life), 'weathered' the metal parts, including the magazine, and painted the grips to look like Bakelite plastic. All that remains is possibly another varnish layer on the stock and also dulling down the stock with mud and water.

Today I ensured fine weather for Schaulen - I waterproofed my Zelts.

Well yesterday I re-painted the tank as it was badly sun bleached.
I know it is patchy but I started off thinking make it like camo also it is always windy by me so had to keep the sprayer close to the body so not the best result.
Took the turret off for the job.

...found out the "fix" I made for my Winchester M1892's gas leak appears to have worked.
It was filled last night about 10pm, and still fired this morning about 7:30am.
Wired up my headset for PMR use for hands free coms in the tank.
Not a good result though, maybe a throat mic is needed.

Got my MP40 mag adaptor for my PPSH41
. Need to do a bit of fine tuning and blacken it, but the main works done and I think it looks a bit tasty with the straight mag's in and I'm just a bit happy with it. Work and time permitting I'm hoping to have this ready for Minsk next week.

Ian is the motor on the HP inside the hand grip like on a M14?

Yes I believe so as it is an M14 motor. Oh and Ian, where did you get that adaptor?

I believe so, been a while since I had an M14,the motor is off the bottom/rear of the gear box going into the hand grip.

I had a friend mill it to some plans I drew up. The only thing I have not quit worked out yet is the mag catch, for now I'm going to use a similar retaining method as a socket wrench and just use a sprung ball bearing to hold it in place, until I can get hold of an actual picture or description of the real steel set up.
