Tried and failed to get the bolt out of my K98 to downgrade it, just couldn't shift the retaining pin. I did however manage to lop an inch off the barrel outer so the hop adjuster works again and the barrel is now the right length and sorted out the foresight shroud.

I shall return to the bolt in due course, but visitors are due and She Who Must be Obeyed views a dining table covered in dismantled rifle with some displeasure.

Cheers
Martin

Stripped and re-blacked the front of the garand kit. Seems to have worked but still prone to chipping.

the gun parts on the table should be used to implement a plan to set up a workshop out back where "i wont get under your feet love" a nice heated insulated with electric 8" by 10" shed is just big enough. :good:

Yes, well, I could do it out in the garage but it is cold and horrible out there, especially today when it was snowing for a while.

You are probably right though, better lighting and a gas heater and I'm sorted.

Cheers

I did my first bit of airsoft gun upgrading today. I've successfully completed Kalashnikov kids AK Hop conversion on my MP40 using the exact parts he recommended from RSOV. It's taken me 3 or 4 hours, working carefully and slowly. Finally put it back together and put 6 mags through it. My god, what a difference, I never thought my old MP40 would shoot that straight and it seems to have increased the range.

Now I'm looking through the rest of the stuff I bought for the gearbox overhaul. 6mm metal bearings, new piston and head and M100 Guarder spring. Just plucking up the courage to crack open that little sucker and get stuck in. Cheers to Dadio for the encouragement at Sevastapol to buy the bits and have a go.

Looking nice! I got a brit tommy wood kit a while back and it had a cross-hatching on the front hand guard that looked hand done.

Yay, a pallet that weighed 1000+kg + pump truck runs over my foot, crushes the toe cap and only does crush damage to one toe! At least it's not broken.

... checked the food box in the garage to see what provisions I need to get for next weekend. My eyes fell on a cardboard box full of webbing. Damn! I had forgotten I had scrubbed and washing machined it at Christmas. Hey-ho, half an hour later I had a blancoed webbing set again. And I did it on the living room carpet - no mess!

I really am very envious, it's looking amazing..
The parts look amazing and precision made, but then again they should for £1500+
Longing to see it finished..
Regards Chris.
