). Why, well I suppose it is rather easy to not get ambushed if you are walking over a relatively small area for a relatively small amount of time as you are on your guard and your opponents are not actual SAS or such.
On the other hand who got his arse handed to himself in an ambush without the need for an obstreperous occifer?* But that was great. Exhilarating, terrifying and embarrassing in equal measure.

thats ok then.... i believe you are allowed one light brigade type debacle..... and our gloriuos none fireing charge at lightning was mine. 
For me its gotta be spending a reasonably long time in the field, carrying all your kit, a decent chain of command, some believable medic/regen rules, even periods of boredom. The fear factor is never going to be there but maybe a little apprehension will be and hopefully some tiredness to test combat effectiveness so to speak.
Its all about the players, ive had some amazing games in the ww2 scene, and nearly all were great, having players in the right mindset makes all the difference, the best "In charicter" game ive attended was the PBI op lightning, loads of fun, and the people who were there really got in to the scenario.

Love the whole idea of WW2 airsoft/Milsim.
Done the Digging trenches Stagging on Recce stand to etc etc and I left that many years ago and it is not all that appealing to me now. My idea is the period weapons accurate kit (Not stitch counting thats not what I am here for) having a good scenario (Not SAS Para versus Russin Marine Sailors oooohhh errrr!!!!) and certainly not the (Love this expression Blat Fest) limited ammo. Friendly banter with the enemy (2 camps? not sure on that) and of course a good beer scratch and F**t! Camping!!!!! like I said done that in shell scrapes so not really for me unless you could also gaurentee the weather

all of the options are grate if every one can and will go by them,
why limit to a few when you can try all (may take a year or so for it to flow well) with in well run days or preferable weekends 
maybe we should use realsim 1940,s style ?
