Hi Warren, does it turn your finger green if you wear it for a day ? If so then it`s probably dodgy.
Epic has a ring with similar markings on their website, albeit with a deaths head instead of a swastika. http://www.epicmilitaria.com/product.php/851/ss-totenkopf-ring
If you want a definative answer you could pop a pic up on the War Relics forum, there are a few posts on there about rings. http://warrelics.eu/forum/search.php?searchid=700916 :good:

I'd agree with Slick, looks repro. poor casting with airbubbles evident in the eagle and swastika. what is the metal? I'd guess not pure gold or silver due to the green oxidisation on the surface.

Also for me, vague back stories about how items were aquired which cannot be proven always rings alarm bells.

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
Joseph Stalin, November 1942
