Gebirgs Anorak (Converted Swedish Snow Smock)
As above, I have a Swedish Snow Smock which I have just 'converted' into what I think is a passable replica of a Gebirgs Anorak.
The two large pockets have been removed from the lower front, and one mounted centrally on the chest, whilst the other pocket has been cut into two smaller pockets and sewn into and alongside the other, giving three chest pockets in total.
The dimensions of the pockets are not an exact copy of the 'proper' anoraks, but are similar and more useful; the pockets are 'boxed' giving more storage, rather than the original, flat pockets, and various different designs, both commercial and military were used anyway. There are no rear pockets, but these are rarely noticed, imho, particularly when webbing is being worn.
The smock is an XL/XXL size (fits me @ 48"-50" chest), but are designed to be loose so will fit smaller.
Colour currently is off-white, however I can dye it a grey-green colour (once I've finished the last bits of sewing); I have both dyes and was going to custom mix it. Tan may also be an option (dep. on what's in stock).
'Proper' repro's are available from Epic @ £100-ish - I'm not wanting anywhere near that but would like a reasonably return for the amount of effort put in to the smock. I've just sold an unconverted, un-dyed smock for £20.00, of which £5-odd was postage.
Offers invited for the smock, either 'as is' (off white) or dyed .................
I'm trying to get a convincing Brit kit together for HH next year, so offers of appropriate uniform will also be strongly considered .............................

Pic of the pockets -
Whilst the pockets are wider/deeper then the 'standard' versions seen, there was variation between military and civvy kit, between one, two and three pockets; when worn the pockets look in proportion to the smock.
The two 'side' pockets are fastened by button and press-stud fastener (for easy access). As a bonus they are big enough to fit in either a canteen, 2x AK47 mags, or 3-4 MP40 mags (1 in l/h pocket as ref. for size); I don't have any MP44 mags to check if they fit. Obviously the centre pocket will accommodate a range of items (maps, scoff, grens. etc). It would be perfectly possibly to carry all you need for a day's skirmishing in this smock, without the need to wear webbing, although just a belt would help to keep things 'tight'.
I'm pleased with the results (and I'm picky), and tbh I'd be happy to keep it, but as I try to make this hobby self-funding, I'd sell it to buy in other kit ........................
