D-Day Airsoft and Sterling Airsoft proudly presents...
‘The battle for St.Lo’
After 5 weeks of hard slog and the loss of Major Thomas Howie, a great inspiration to his men, Operation Cobra’s battle for St.Lo is about to come to its final blows. The 29th Infantry have only victory on their minds after Omaha and the long journey that has brought them here. Now battle hardened, they are focused on nothing short of victory, taking the City and raising their colours in what’s left of the town square.
General Gerhardt has ordered that the body of Major Howie be paraded to the town square upon victory, in respect of his courage and rousing speech made only moments before his death.
Facing the allied push are the re-enforcements of 343, 272 Divisions, 11th Panzer Division as well as elements of German paratroopers. Although late on arrival and hampered by accurate bombing raids, the town of St.Lo is still very much in the Axis hands. The armies are about to lock horns and fight for the ‘City of Ruins’ a key cross road to the rest of Normandy.
As in all D-Day events there will be groups booking on from other units that may not have played a part in the real battle for St.Lo but have joined our amazing story none the less.
