Having run the game out in my head 100 times can I make a small alteration in timing?
At the start of the day the Brit's thing is sorted, no worries with that. I have a lecture prepared, the platoon is already briefed.
What troubles me is that Guy will be out with his men for TWO hours being able to anything other than watch - that is a hell of a long time and runs the risk of players being spotted and alarms raised, all before Hess has been captured and will become a bit of a farce. Hess must be the lynch-pin of the whole day, not Germans v Brits skirmishes.
So, the small alteration. The previous idea was that Germans move out to their positions across the valley PRIOR to game on. My suggestion is that they start moving off at game-on. While Pete and I are busying ourselves with parades, inspections, lectures and instruction Guy and Kermit busy themselves ferrying players off the safezone and into position. This will knock the best park of an hour of the German's waiting around, the rest can be spent trying to find Kermit hanging from a tree with a sprained ankle (or something). By the time all this is done Hess will have landed and possibly been rounded up - THEN you have something to do, your mission to capture Hess. After all, it will be a nonsense to be seen to arrive BEFORE Hess - how would you anticipate where Hess was to crash? You are supposed to be following him, not arriving before him!

No, I won't be going. Most of the shit we are having to deal with and face in the upcoming months is down to our useless, militant union in the first place. I'm looking on this game as a chance to get away from all of the bollocks going on at work.
