I saw some German officer field grey breeches for ~£11.95 at EPIC Militaria ( http://www.epicmilitaria.com/product.ph ... y-jodhpurs).
Does anyone have experience with those and are they really close enough to the Heer ones?

I dont know how close they are to the genuine article, but I have a pair I've used for various cosplay and vintage photoshoots (from breeches for an Amy Johnson styled shoot to a Steampunk Zeppelin captains costume).

They have a different braces attachment, single d rings that fit the east german braces only, you'd have to sew on buttons to fit standard braces.The legs are very tight at the bottom, no good if you have fat calves.
Thanks for that. I might have an issue with my calves then.
